In May 2008 the Committee established a Jamboree Sub-Committee to make the necessary plans for the Barbados Contingent. The
Sub-Committee comprises representatives of the three Districts with the members of the National Scout Committee as Ex-officio.
The Sub-Committee's first task was to circulate to Leaders the preliminary information on the Contingent and compiling a list of
Leaders interested in attending the Jamboree. This completed, the Sub-Committee then tackled the task of reviewing the list of
available Leaders and making the necessary recommendations for Contingent Leader and Deputy Contingent Leaders.
In September 2008, the Chief Commissioner, on receit of the recommendations, appointed Mr. Hamilton Roach D.S. as the Contingent
Leader and Mr. Hamilton Cumberbatch D.D.C. and Mr. Courtney Shepherd A.D.C. as the Deputy Contingent Leaders. Mssrs. Roach,
Cumberbatch, and Shepherd immediately set about putting together their team for the Jamboree. The Team has been meeting on a regular
basis and has been making the necessary plans for the Contingent including holding several fund-raising events.

At the monthly Team meeting in May 2009 the final design for the Barbados Contingent Badge was
approved.
The Badge has a background of red, black, yellow, white and green stripes; the colours of the Guyana Flag. The Jamboree Logo
in yellow with a red out line on the word "jamboree" is set in the bottom half of the badge. The Barbados Flag is
set in the top right corner of the badge. The words "Barbados" and "Contingent" in white and black
respectively, are set to the right of the Barbados Flag.
The Contingent Badge will be produced in two sizes 3½" x 2" and 5" x 2¾". The smaller size
will be worn by the Contingent members at the top of the right sleeve of their uniforms. Each Contingent member will receive
a number of the badges in their Contingent Kit and will be able to purchase additional ones. The Contingnet Badges will be
available for purchase by the public as a souvenir item after the Jamboree.
